Guided Canoe Fishing

Slip In Quiet. Fish Where Motors Cannot.

No motor. No noise. Just a paddle stroke, a quiet cove, and a rod bent double. We slide into the lily pads of the Belgrade Lakes where trophy northern pike sit waiting in ambush, and drift the deep, cold water of Wyman Lake for landlocked salmon that never see a lure from a motorboat.

Fish can hear a motor coming from miles away. In a canoe we glide silently, launch in remote ponds with no boat ramps and reach skinny water larger boats cannot. Our canoes are stable enough for first-timers. You bring a willingness to paddle; we bring 35 years of knowing exactly where they hold.

Fish on McGrath Pond or Salmon Lake (Ellis Pond). These waters offer Brown/Rainbow Trout, Bass, Pickerel, Perch, Crappie, Hornpout, and Eel. With plenty of shallow areas for smaller fish, these are excellent ponds for kids and new anglers learning to fish from a canoe.

Enjoy a day fishing on the scenic Wyman Lake. This location offers excellent fishing for cold water species including Landlocked Salmon, Brook Trout, Togue (Lake Trout), and Rainbow Trout, as well as Perch, Pickerel, Hornpout, Smelt, Eel, and Cusk.

    • Free rescheduling 30+ days outCancel 30 or more days before your trip and your deposit moves to a new date.
    • Inside 30 days, the deposit is keptIf you cancel with less than 30 days’ notice, or don’t show up, the deposit is forfeited.
    • If we cancel, you chooseIf we call a trip off for weather, unsafe conditions or any other reason, you pick a new date or a full refund.

    Trips start at $300. On the Belgrade Lakes a half day is $300 and a full day $450; on McGrath Pond and Salmon Lake a half day is $350 and a full day $500.

    Which waters do you fish from the canoe?

    Messalonskee Lake, Great Pond, East Pond, North Pond and Long Pond in the Belgrades, plus McGrath Pond and Salmon Lake for families and beginners.

    How many people does that price cover?

    Up to three people.

    Why a canoe instead of a boat?

    A canoe goes quietly into the lily pads and shallow coves where motorboats cannot follow, which is where the pike and bass sit.
