Before You Book
Common Questions
What does nuisance wildlife removal cost?
We quote it rather than publish a rate, because an honest number depends on the animal, the access and how long the job takes. A skunk under a deck and a beaver flooding a road are not the same piece of work. Tell us what is happening and we will give you a straight figure.
Which animals do you deal with?
Beaver, raccoon, skunk, opossum, squirrel, groundhog and woodchuck, and coyote or fox where livestock and poultry are being taken. If you are not sure what you have, describe the damage and the sounds and we will usually know.
Do you cover my town?
We work across Central Maine: Augusta, Waterville, Oakland, Belgrade, Sidney, Rome, Smithfield, Winslow, Vassalboro and Fairfield. We are based in Oakland, so response is measured in hours rather than routing queues. If you are just outside that list, call and ask.
How quickly can you come out?
Call and tell us what you are seeing and where. We will know quickly whether it needs an inspection first or whether we can set traps straight away. Maine law requires traps to be checked daily, and that is our job rather than yours.
Why use a licensed trapper rather than a pest control company?
Most wildlife control work in Maine is handled by pest control firms, and for mice and insects that is fine. Beaver, bobcat and coyote are different animals. We trap for a living, we work to Best Management Practices, and nuisance work is an extension of a working trapline rather than a sideline.
Will the animal just come back?
Something will, if the way in is still open. Removal without finding the entry point or the attractant only buys you a few weeks, so we show you what let the animal in and what needs closing.
