Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 6, 2026

Thibodeau Outdoor Adventures LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a Registered Maine Guide service based in Oakland, Maine. This policy explains what personal information we collect through thibodeauoutdooradventures.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

Information you give us

Trip inquiries and booking requests

When you submit a booking or availability form, we ask for your name, email address, phone number, the trip you are interested in, your preferred dates, the size of your party, and any details you choose to add in the message field. Some pages also ask for a destination or lake you have in mind.

These submissions are delivered to us by email. They are not stored in the website’s database.

Participant waivers

Before a trip, participants complete a liability waiver. The waiver collects the participant’s full name, email address, phone number, mailing address, the trip type, whether the participant is under 18, and whether you consent to photos or video being used.

Each completed waiver is generated as a PDF and stored on our web server so we have a record of it. See Signed waivers and participants under 18 below.

Nuisance wildlife removal requests

These requests also ask for the address of the property where the animal needs to be removed, so a licensed guide and trapper can schedule an on-site evaluation.

Email updates

If you sign up for updates, we collect your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours records some information as you browse:

  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit and how they found us. It records pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and a shortened version of your IP address. We do not use it to identify you personally.
  • Security. Our security plugin records IP addresses and request details to block malicious traffic and login attempts.
  • Server logs. Our host keeps standard access logs.
  • Cookies. Small files are used for analytics, page caching, and security. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or retargeting.

How we use your information

  • To answer your inquiry and arrange a trip
  • To keep the liability and consent records that a guide service is expected to hold
  • To send you updates, if you asked for them
  • To keep the website secure and working properly
  • To meet legal, licensing, and insurance obligations

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers that make the site and our booking process work, and only as needed:

  • Bluehost — web hosting and server logs
  • Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) — delivers form submissions and email to us
  • Google — Analytics, and the Maps and address-autocomplete features used on our maps and waiver forms
  • Automattic — spam filtering and off-site website backups, which include the site database
  • Wordfence — website security
  • Zapier — connects our forms to our own booking tools, where enabled

We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

Signed waivers and participants under 18

Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

Where a participant is under 18, the waiver is completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian, who provides the minor’s information on their behalf. We keep those waivers for the same reason we keep adult waivers: they are the record of the consent given for that trip.

Completed waivers are stored as PDF files on our web server in a non-listed directory. If you would like a copy of a waiver you signed, or want to ask about its removal, contact us using the details below.

How long we keep it

  • Trip inquiries: kept in our email for as long as we may need them for follow-up and our business records.
  • Signed waivers: retained as liability records. Because these relate to insurance and legal claims, we keep them for an extended period.
  • Email list: until you unsubscribe.
  • Analytics: retained according to Google Analytics’ standard retention settings.

How we protect it

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Administrative access is limited to a small number of accounts and is protected by a security plugin and a non-standard login address. Waiver files are excluded from search engines and cannot be browsed as a directory listing.

No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you give us.

Your choices

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Delete information, where we are not required to keep it
  • Stop sending you email updates

Email us at and we will respond. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local privacy laws.

Most browsers let you send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common standard for how sites should respond to it, so we do not currently respond to those signals.

Other websites

Our site links to other places, including our Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube pages. Once you follow one of those links, this policy no longer applies — their own privacy policies do.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
