How to Book Your Trip
Booking a trip with a Registered Maine Guide is a collaborative process. Here is what you can expect when you contact our Maine Guide team:
1. The Inquiry:
Fill out the form below or give us a call. Let us know what dates you are eyeing and what species you want to target (e.g., "September Moose Hunt" or "July Fly Fishing").
2. The Plan:
We will get back to you (usually within 24 hours) to confirm availability. We will discuss logistics, gear requirements, and any special accommodations your group might need.
3. The Deposit:
To lock in your dates, we take a non-refundable deposit: 50% of the trip price, or 25% for bear hunting and bear trapping. The full terms are below.
4. The Adventure:
You show up, and we handle the rest.
Booking & Policies
How cancellations work
- Free rescheduling 30+ days outCancel 30 or more days before your trip and your deposit moves to a new date.
- Inside 30 days, the deposit is keptIf you cancel with less than 30 days’ notice, or don’t show up, the deposit is forfeited.
- If we cancel, you chooseIf we call a trip off for weather, unsafe conditions or any other reason, you pick a new date or a full refund.
How you pay
- 50% deposit holds your datesRequired for every trip and non-refundable (25% for bear hunting and bear trapping). Pay it by Venmo, check or cash.
- Balance due at the start of your tripPay the remainder on the day by Venmo, check or cash.
- Nothing to pay to askSending an enquiry is free. Nothing is taken until we confirm your dates.
Service Area
We operate primarily in Central Maine and the North Woods, but we are flexible and proud to offer select trips anywhere in the state of Maine.
- Statewide Availability: Many custom adventures and excursions are available anywhere in Maine upon request.
- Fishing & Recreation: Primary zones include Kennebec Valley, Belgrade Lakes (Augusta/Waterville area), Rangeley, and Jackman.
- Hunting: Wildlife Management Districts (WMDs) 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 17, and 23.
- Moose Hunts: WMDs 4, 7, 8, 9, and 14.

What information do I need to provide?
When you contact our Maine Guide staff, please include:
- Group Size: How many hunters/anglers?

- Dates: Do you have flexible dates or a hard deadline?
- Lodging: Do you need recommendations for where to stay?
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Cash, Check, and Venmo. The remaining balance of your trip cost is due on the day the trip begins.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that plans change. If you cancel 30 days or more prior to your scheduled trip, your deposit can be used to reschedule for a future date. If you cancel within 30 days, the deposit is forfeited. In the unlikely event that we (the guide service) have to cancel, you will receive a 100% refund.
